MRC Cell Phone Fundraising
It's Easy as 1, 2, 3 (or A, B, C, if you prefer)!
- Sign up with MRC and start collecting cell phones and their accessories.
- Call MRC for free pick up after you have accumulated 30 or more phones.
- GET PAID!! In most cases, you will receive a check within 2 weeks.
Remember:
- Every single cell phone has value, even if it is broken in half.
- The better condition that your phones are in and the more accessories that you collect, the more money you can raise for your cause.
- Remind people to include batteries, chargers, manuals, and software with their donation.
After receiving your shipment, MRC staff will evaluate each phone and base its value on cosmetic condition, functionality, marketability, does the battery hold a charge, what accessories are included and if it makes a test call. All phones will be reset to factory settings, which wipes all personal information from the phone.
All broken, obsolete, or unusable phones will be values at $1.00 per pound, excluding batteries and other accessories.
After usable and marketable phones are assessed for value your check will be issued, generally within 2 weeks.
Keep in mind how profitable this fundraiser could be. One cell phone, such as a Blackjack, could be worth $47. If you were to collect 10 phones of similar value, you would make $470 for your organization.
Many people have 2 or 3 cell phones in a drawer at home. Nearly everyone gets an upgrade when their contract is up, and they don’t know what to do with their old phone. If people know this is funding a great cause, they are more apt to donate their old cell phone than give money. This is better than buying a $20 tin of popcorn, that you can go buy at the grocery store for $5, out of guilt. Individuals can feel good about helping your cause and keeping harmful toxins inside cell phones out of landfills.
